Union: Russia’s platinum output falls 1.2% to 22.4 tns in Jan–Sep
MOSCOW, Dec 7 (PRIME) -- Platinum output of Russian companies fell 1.2% on the year to 22.352 tonnes in January–September, the Russian Union of Gold Producers said in a statement Monday.
Palladium output fell 1% on the year to 65.483 tonnes.
Metals giant Norilsk Nickel produced 15.177 tonnes of platinum as a byproduct of non-ferrous metals, down from 15.239 tonnes in the same period a year ago. The company also cut its palladium production by 2% to 62.387 tonnes, the union said.
Russian Platinum produced 2.536 tonnes of platinum at its alluvial deposits in the Khabarovsk Region in the period, up 12.61% on the year. Platinum production of Koryakgeoldobycha, a unit of multi-industry holding Renova Group, plunged 42.4% to 258 kilograms.
